When choosing your paints, make sure to select high-quality oil paints that are lightfast and have good pigment load. I recommand you to buy a starter kit, it will save you alot of time and money. Now, let’s talk about the most import thing, the technic, it’s like me friend always say, “practice make perfect”, you can’t just read a book and become a good painter, you need to practice, practice, practice.

One of the most challenging aspects of landscape oil painting is capturing the subtleties of light and color. To achieve this, it’s essential to understand the basics of color theory and how to mix colors effectively. You can use a color wheel to help you understand how colors interact with each other. For example, if you want to create a warm sunset, you can mix orange and yellow to create a vibrant and inviting color. me and my friend was try to paint a sunset, but it end up look like a mess, we add too much yellow, and it look like a big yellow blob, but we learn from that experience.

Here are a few tips and tricks to help you improve your landscape oil painting skills: firstly, always start with a sketch, it will help you to get a sense of the composition, secondly, use reference images to help you capture the details of the landscape, thirdly, don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things, it’s all part of the learning process.
